Brian Martin

Moon Lake Retreat is a part of The Moon Lake Group LLC, founded and owned by Brian Martin. Brian Martin graduated summa cum laude from Hanover College and the Harvard Law School with high honors. While at Harvard, he served as an Editor of The Harvard Law Review. After law school, Brian worked as a law clerk to Warren Burger, the Chief Justice of the United States. Brian later served as Assistant Solicitor General of the United States from 1988 through 1990, when he represented the United States and its agencies in front of the Supreme Court of the United States. Brian personally argued 6 cases in front of the Supreme Court. In 1994, Brian joined the retailer, Proffitt's, Inc. Over the next 10 years, Proffitt's grew to become a Fortune 200 company with 55,000 employees and revenues in excess of $7 billion. Proffitt's bought Saks Fifth Avenue in 1998 and changed its corporate name to Saks Incorporated. While at Saks, Brian served as General Counsel, head of human resources, head of real estate, the President of the Saks Foundation, and he oversaw the creation of international operations for Saks Fifth Avenue. Brian stepped down from Saks in 2005 and now resides with his wife, Marika Blades, in North Carolina where he founded the Moon Lake Group, LLC.  Brian provides life coaching and business consulting services. He currently serves as the Independent and Managing Director of Global Maritek Systems, Inc., President of the Three Mountain Foundation, and Board Member of the Martin Family Foundation.
